Woodblock print depicting the Western Paradise of the Buddha Amitabha. Ink and colour on paper. It depicts Amitabha seated on a lotus throne, flanked by two bodhisattvas, Avalokitesvara and Mahasthamaprapta, and two groups of deities above. In front of them is a lotus pond with Buddhists seated on lotus pedestals and worshipping the Buddha. Outside the lotus pond are two men and two boys standing by a railing. The borders contain inscriptions of the Chinese text of the Pure Land sutra.

Collection Information

These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
