Door lock comprising a rectangular block of wood with two sliding tumblers inside it forming a locking mechanism. Accompanying the lock is a wooden key with notches cut in the side to fit into the lock. Written on the side of the lock is an inscription: 'A common door lock of the Faroe Islands. Identical with those found in the catacombs of Egypt. Sir W.Trevelyan, Bart.'
