seat mat; textile

Circular felted seat mat, predominantly red and orange, created in 4 layers of increasing size. The plain layers of the textile with thicker rims are sewn together. The decorated top layer seems to have been felted onto the one underneath. The 'inlaid' felted decoration is outlined in black, red and orange with light orange detailling. The outermost edge is decorated with orange, green, red and blue wool tuffts attached by a cream string sewn into the rim. According to accompanying documentation the mat is occasionally used as a wall hanging.
