Glove puppet of a Dervish with central rod. The puppet's head is made from a gourd. He has long, brown, curly hair and a straight black moustache; large, wide-open eyes and a long fringe which indicates that he is a shaman (see Basilov, V. N. 1989. Nomads of Eurasia (University of Washington Press: London). He is dressed in a pointed, black, felted hat, bound with a tinsel-white turban; a choker in red, yellow, green, blue and white stitching; a striped, brown and grey robe of which the front opening, hem and cuffs are trimmed with blue and white. Underneath the robe the puppet is wearing a plain, cream undershirt.
