fish basket (container (hunting, fishing & trapping))

Inner basket of a kerera (fish basket) made of two baskets for keeping the catch while looking for more fish. There is an opening at the bottom of the basket which allows small fish to be put into the lower (outer) basket without opening.

A basket with a square base and a round rim, formed of wide strips of plant fibre woven together in a plait weave. There is a hole woven into the base.

Collection Information

These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
