textile; headdress (head ornament)

Woman's headdress consisting of a circle decorated with 2 pieces of pleated barkcloth at the front. The pieces of cream barkcloth have been decorated with black, pink and green stripes of varying widths. They have then been pleated into fan shapes, and bound onto the circle with plant fibre threads (most likely hemp). The circle widens at the back, and the outside is covered with a cotton textile band, decorated with appliquè, embroidery, and couching.
