armlet (arm ornament)

Armlet made by coiling a length of leaf, possibly screwpine leaves, into a coil of approximately 9 thicknesses. The outside of the coil is decorated with diagonal lines of brown paint. A length of vegetable fibre has been tied to the coil at the middle with string. Each end of this terminates in a bundle of leaves.
