Palace scenes

Table runner painted on silk stretched over a frame. Design is read from both ends and both sides and consists of: at each end a palace scene, with royal couple at centre, many people paying respects and making offerings, including at one end two mounted elephants, at the other two mounted horses. One side has scene of royal couple mounted on elephant, surrounded by retinue. Other side has couple in a gold carriage apparently being drawn by four men. Many palm trees. 1140 x 530.
